The province of Douro is one of the most popular touristic destinations in Portugal and one of the first demarcated wine regions around the world. The landscape was classified by UNESCO as a cultural and archaeological World heritage.
Amarante is our first stop, this medieval city designed along both sides of the river Tâmega is characterizedby its narrow streets in granite, houses dating from the Sec. 16 and 18, connected by the bridge of S.Gonçalo(Sec.18) and the Monastery(sec.16) with the same name. Relax in the wood Porches over the river and taste the no less famous confectinery of the city. We continue towards Pinhão where we’ll find the beautifull train station decorated with na unique collection of tiles on the wine making. We leave for Régua by one of the most beautifull roads, surrounded by the most important wine farms of the regio. We arrive in Régua, the former administrative town of Douro region and obligatory passage point of Port wine on its way to Foz do Douro. We will then visit a wine farm with the possibility of wine tasting. Last, but never the least, before we return to Porto, we will visit V.Real and its lovely historical center.
